PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU Urges nations and families to look back , study their history for a better future

President Bola Tinubu has urged nations and families to look back and study their history for us to have a better future. The President made this disclosure during the funeral service of the late Chief Moses Adegbite, the father of the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Prof Stephen Adegbite at Fiditi, Oyo State on 30th January, 2026.

The President who spoke through the Hon Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu explained that both nations and families should learn from their past mistakes and improve on it for a better future.
He emphasised that the late Chief Moses Adegbite lived a good life worthy of emulation, " So there would be need to study his life and learn from his mistakes" , he said.

Mr President said because late Chief Moses Adegbite lived a worthy life , his soul would rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord. He further wished that the Lord grants his family the required strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

The President used the medium to ask for prayers for the success of his administration, stating that his administration has initiated a lot of people oriented programmes which though may be painfully, " but there will be light at the end of the tunnel".

The representative of the President was accompanied by the Hon Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof Joseph Utsev, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and his counterpart in the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation.

Late Chief Moses Adegbite died on 14th November, 2025 after a brief illness at the age of 86.
He was a philanthropist, a community leader and a humanitarian.
His funeral programme commenced on 29th January with a wake at his residence in Fiditi.
High profile personalities both within and outside Nigeria grace the funeral event.
After the funeral service, the corpse was taken to the Eternal Rest private Cemetery for interment.
