SGF TO GRACE NCPC PRAYER CONVOCATION FOR NIGERIA IN MOUNT ZION, JERUSALEM

The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission will be holding its prayer Convocation for Nigeria on Mount Zion Jerusalem on 5th March, 2017 during the 2016 Pilgrimage completion Exercise.  The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev. Tor Uja disclosed this during the Inauguration of Committees on Land and Training at the NCPC Corporate headquarters, Abuja. He also disclosed that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Engr. Babachir David Lawal will be the Special Guest of Honour at the prayer session.

The NCPC boss informed that the focus of the Prayer Convocation for Nigeria in Mount Zion, Jerusalem, is to pray for the President, the Acting President and Nigeria as a whole. According to him, “we be leading and mobilizing the Church to pray for the recovery of Mr. President, for the Acting President to hold forth in dignity and strength and to pray for Nigeria and Nigerians for the wholistic recovery of our nation”.

He also intimated that NCPC is pushing up its concept of development by constructing her own Heritage Conference Center for the orientation of all intending pilgrims before airlift, thereby ending orientation for pilgrims at Airport Halls. He explained that the second purpose of the Heritage and Conference centre is to work with the Israeli Agricultural experts to build a farm centres which would produce crops and train farmers. And lastly, to build a Secondary School that would bring up young people with good Christian values.

Rev. Uja explained that the depression Nigeria is going through is not for destruction but an opportunity to build and reconstruct the nation. He further explained that Nigeria is going through depression now because people have failed to maximize and put in place the proper structure that would sustain the resources and blessings of this nation.  In his words, “we have to put these three things in place for our nation to recover: hard work, intelligent commitment and sustainable investments and character realignment”. He said NCPC would contribute spiritually and socially for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of this country.

He urged the Church to invest spiritually in the nation. In his words, “we owe this nation our service, remove sectional barriers, and to stand for what is right in our nation and in our service to God”.

The Executive Secretary charged the Committee members to work hard, make necessary sacrifices and come forth with result.

In his response, the Head of Administration NCPC, Mr. Danjuma Elabi on behalf of the Committees thanked the Executive Secretary for the opportunity given to them to serve. He promised that the Committees would work hard and ensure that the objectives of the Committees are achieved.
