​NCPC COUNSELLING AND SPIRITUAL COMMITTEE FLAGS OFF THREE DAY RETREAT

The Counseling and Spiritual Committee of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), in preparation for the 2015 Christian Pilgrimage exercise has flagged off a three day retreat to fast and pray for a hitch free pilgrimage operation.

The retreat which took place in Global Village Hotel, Koroduma, Nassarawa State, brought together clergymen from States Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards (SCPWBs) and members of the Counseling and Spiritual Committee who converged to seek the face of God for better Pilgrimage Operations in 2015.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara, who was represented by the Federal Commissioner North-East, Arch. Bishop Nemuel Babba, admonished the Committee through a reading in Psalm 37:1-17 on the need to trust in the Lord and do good. He further spoke on ‘the power of hope’ and encouraged the Committee to be still and wait patiently on the Lord.

 He urged them to pray and hope in God for a successful pilgrimage exercise, stating that “the success of any pilgrimage exercise is dependent on prayers”

He emphasized that prayer is not a monologue but a dialogue, thus, he enjoined them to be very attentive to get a response from God as the prayer and fasting retreat commences. In his words, “Take time to be quiet and listen to God. That is the only way we can hear from God”

He thanked the State Chairmen and Secretaries for coming together from various states for such a unique purpose and assured them of his total support for their activities.

The Flag off ceremony for this year’s Pilgrimage exercise is slated for 17^th October, 2015, at the Local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
